MAY 2010
1. The productivity update for the X1 platform will be released June 29. Excerpt from the Statement of Direction 2010-2013:
“The release of Maconomy X1 in the spring of 2009 introduced broad and deep enhancements to the core business application and also brought out new releases of both People Planner and Analytix. As these products are still relatively new to the market we are committed to bringing out new features and enhancements to these products at a fast pace. Further, with the release of X1 our entire product portfolio has reached a breadth and a new level of completeness that calls for an update focused on streamlining work processes across the board. We have therefore decided to introduce a productivity update to the X1 platform to accommodate for these needs. To ensure fast and smooth deployment for existing customers the productivity update provides no new core functionality but lots of user interface enhancements that streamline work processes across modules and improved capabilities for developing customizations.”
The productivity update will include the following new or updated items:
- Core Application SP 10 containing enhancements to the core application (new, logic-free fields) that enable more efficient customization development (plus SP 11 being a traditional bug-fixing SP)
- People Planner version 3 introducing a.o. a new web-based front-end and Outlook integration
2. SP 10 for version X1 was released on 5/4/10.
3. SP 22 for version X+ was released on 5/4/10.
4. The next service pack releases are 6/29/10, which is SP 11 for X1 and SP 23 for X+.
APRIL 2010
Windows 7 and Single Sign On
- We have identified a problem in Windows 7, which creates issues with Maconomy's Single Sign-On (SSO).
- If a user in Windows 7 is a Local Administrator and has User Account Control (UAC) enabled, Kerberos stops working, and therefore, Maconomy's SSO will not work either.
- The problem can be verified with Microsoft's own klist tool, so it is not due to a flaw in Maconomy. We have created a Service Request with Microsoft for this issue.
- The obvious workaround is to disable UAC for all local admin users.
Service pack 10 Version X1 and Service pack 22 X+ will be released on 5/4/10. Release note will be published and posted at that time.
